1. Overview
Dayfall is a local-first recall calendar. It helps you remember past days through photos, places, notes, and events — entirely on your own device.
Dayfall does not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external server. There is no account system, no cloud synchronization, and no backend service that receives or processes your personal information.
All data you create within Dayfall stays on your device. You are in full control of it.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The following types of information may be stored locally on your device as a result of using Dayfall:
- Representative photos you select for each day (stored as references to your photo library)
- Location records derived from places you stayed for a significant amount of time (see Section 3.2)
- Text notes and memos you write within the app
- Manual payment or activity records you add as memory cues
- Calendar events, birthdays, anniversaries, and other important dates you enter
- App preferences and settings
None of this information is transmitted to Timeborns or any third party by Timeborns. It remains on your device.
3. Permissions Used
3.1 Photo Library Access
Dayfall requests access to your photo library so you can select a representative photo for each day and view photo metadata (such as capture date and time) as memory cues.
Photos are read locally only. They are not uploaded, transmitted, or processed outside of your device. Timeborns never accesses your photos.
3.2 Location (Including Background Location)
Dayfall may request location permission — including the "Always Allow" (background location) option — to help reconstruct which places you visited during the day.
How location data is used:
- Only significant stay locations (roughly 15 minutes or more of continuous presence) are recorded. Continuous movement paths are not stored.
- Background location access, if granted, allows place detection even when the app is not actively open, so your day's location story can be reconstructed later.
- All location data is processed and stored on your device only. It is not sent to Timeborns or any third party by Timeborns.
- Location accuracy depends on your device hardware, GPS conditions, OS-level battery optimization, and network environment. Dayfall cannot guarantee complete or perfectly accurate location capture.
3.3 Notifications
Dayfall requests notification permission to send local reminders for events you have added — such as birthdays, anniversaries, significant dates, and calendar entries.
All notifications are generated locally on your device. No remote notification server is involved.
4. Payment / Transaction Records
Dayfall may offer a feature to record payment or transaction details as memory cues for a given day. This is a manual, user-entered record only.
Dayfall does not connect to financial institutions, banks, card networks, or any financial API. There is no automatic transaction import or financial data synchronization. Any payment records in Dayfall are entered by you, stored locally, and serve as personal memory cues only.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Advertising
Dayfall may include advertisements served by a third-party advertising network (such as Google AdMob or a similar service). If enabled, the ad network may collect certain device identifiers (such as an advertising ID) and limited usage signals to serve advertisements, in accordance with that network's own privacy policy.
Timeborns does not pass your personal recall data, notes, photos, or location records to any advertising partner. You may be able to limit ad personalization through your device's privacy settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS, or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).
If advertising is not currently active in your version of Dayfall, this section describes our general policy position for future builds.
5.2 In-App Purchases (if offered)
Dayfall may offer optional in-app purchases to unlock features or remove advertising, if such functionality is made available. Any purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) according to their own privacy policies. Timeborns does not receive or store your payment card information.
5.3 Crash Reporting and Analytics (if enabled)
Dayfall may use a crash reporting or stability tool (such as Firebase Crashlytics or a similar service) to detect technical errors and improve app stability, if such a service is integrated. If used, it collects anonymized, aggregated technical data (crash logs, device model, OS version) and does not include your personal recall data, notes, photos, or location history.
The core functionality of Dayfall — recalling your day — does not require any account, cloud service, or external analytics.
6. Backup and Data Recovery
All Dayfall data is local to your device. Backup functionality, if available, is provided through a local export only — for example, a file you save to your own storage. Timeborns does not provide cloud backup or remote data recovery services.
If your device is lost, reset, or replaced without a local backup, your Dayfall data may not be recoverable. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups.
7. Children's Privacy
Dayfall is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in a way that raises privacy concerns, please contact us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Dayfall after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Changes that materially affect how your data is handled will be communicated through an in-app notice or an updated app store listing description.
